Oxford Greens hosted a helicopter golf ball drop benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) during the World’s Largest Golf Outing on Monday, August 11.
Participants donated $10 to receive a number correlating to a golf ball dropped, along with hundreds of others, from a helicopter. The ball closest to the target will won a membership to Oxford Greens, annually ranked one of the best public courses in Connecticut. The World’s Largest Golf Outing was a simultaneous golf event played at more than 120 Billy Casper Golf-managed golf courses in 28 states. Open to golfers of all skill levels, part of event proceeds and all donations from non-players benefit WWP, the national organization whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors
With more than $350,000 raised for WWP and 8,800 registered players to date, BCG is targeting $1,000,000 from this year’s event, eclipsing a record-setting $735,000 and 10,000 golfers in 2013. We will share the total money raised as soon as possible.
